Will mentioned Jim Polzin's story today about the lack of leadership on the UW defense. It's a good read, and as questions came up while reading it Jim answered them later. My thought is that it's not so much about leadership as it is about experience - different things that come with playing a lot. Is it a lack of leadership when Hodge overruns pursuit of a ball carrier and leaves a cutback lane open, or when Carter takes a bad angle to a tackle? It's experience.
Either way, something along those lines is missing, and it wasn't missing last year even though Casillas, Levy, Ike and a couple others were starting for the first time.
